And he inquired not of the Lord. Therefore He slew him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
and inquired not of Jehovah: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.
and did not inquire of the Lord [instead]. Therefore the Lord killed him and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
And inquired not so of the Lord [in earnest penitence]. Therefore the Lord slew him and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.

but he did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
He didn’t consult the Lord, so the Lord killed him and gave the kingdom to David, Jesse’s son.
instead of consulting Adonai. Therefore Adonai put him to death and turned the rulership over to David the son of Yishai.
instead of asking the Lord. So the Lord had Saul killed and gave his kingdom to David, the son of Jesse.
and he asked not counsel of Jehovah; therefore he slew him, and transferred the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
And trusted not is the Lord: therefore he slew him, and transferred his kingdom to David the son of Isai.
instead of asking the Lord. That is why the Lord killed Saul and gave the kingdom to Jesse’s son David.
He did not ask the Lord to tell him what he should do. So the Lord punished him with death. The Lord gave the kingdom of Israel to Jesse's son, David, instead.
He did not seek guidance from the Lord. That is why the Lord brought about his death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.

He did this instead of asking the Lord for help. This is why the Lord put Saul to death and gave the kingdom to Jesse’s son David.
and by not seeking counsel from the Lord, who therefore put him to death and turned the kingdom over to Jesse’s son David.

Saul died in disobedience, disobedient to God. He didn’t obey God’s words. Instead of praying, he went to a witch to seek guidance. Because he didn’t go to God for help, God took his life and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
but did not seek the Lord. So He killed him and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
He didn’t request information from Yahweh. So Yahweh killed him and turned the kingship over to David, Jesse’s son.
rather than from the Lord. Therefore the Lord took his life, and turned his kingdom over to David, the son of Jesse.

Because Saul disobeyed the Eternal One and trusted in the counsel of a medium instead, he died at the Eternal’s hand; and the Eternal gave the kingdom to the great king David, son of Jesse.
and didn’t inquire of Yahweh. Therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
and he hoped not in the Lord; for which thing both the Lord killed him, and translated his realm to David, the son of Jesse. (and he asked not of the Lord; for which thing the Lord killed him, and turned his kingdom over to Jesse’s son David.)
and he inquired not at Jehovah, and He putteth him to death, and turneth round the kingdom to David son of Jesse.
